WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
THROUGH STRATEGIC
PARTNERSHIPS
Building strong workforce development partnerships remains
central to Chapman Partnership’s commitment to creating lasting
pathways to self-sufficiency. This year, we proudly expanded our
collaboration with Miami Dade College, one of the nation’s largest
institutions of higher education, through a three-year Educational
Partnership Agreement. This milestone agreement establishes
a powerful framework for joint initiatives that expand access
to higher education, workforce training, and student success.
Together, we are bridging the gap between emergency housing and
economic mobility by ensuring our clients have access to the tools,
resources, and opportunities needed to thrive.
Through this partnership, Chapman clients are connected to a
continuum of educational experiences designed to inspire, prepare,
and advance. From early college credit pathways and readiness
workshops to masterclasses, guest lectures, and immersive campus
experiences, the EPA creates multiple entry points into higher
education. At the same time, Miami Dade College students engage
directly with our community through service-learning, providing
tutoring and mentorship within our Head Start and Early Head Start
programs. First-year success coaching further supports participants
with academic advisement, career planning, and wellness resources
ensuring that every step forward is supported with intention and
care.
Equally impactful is our partnership with Miami-Dade County
Public Schools under the leadership of Superintendent Dr.
Jose Dotres, which introduces tuition-free, paid apprenticeship
opportunities for residents and community members. Focused
on high-demand, career-oriented fields such as medical assisting,
pharmacy technician training, and HVAC certification, this initiative
connects hands-on learning with real-world employment. By
aligning education with workforce needs, this program creates a
direct pipeline to sustainable careers empowering individuals and
families to achieve financial independence and long-term stability.
Complementing these efforts, Chapman Partnership continues
to host onsite career fairs that bring leading employers directly
to our centers, creating immediate access to job opportunities
and professional networks. These events, alongside our broader
workforce initiatives, are made possible through the leadership of
our Workforce Trades & Education Committee, chaired by Fernando
Ruiz. Together, these partnerships reflect a shared belief that
economic mobility is achievable when education, employment, and
community are aligned advancing our mission to not only provide
housing, but to build futures filled with opportunity.
