LETTER FROM CEO
Dear Friends and Supporters,
As we mark the 30th anniversary of Chapman Partnership, I’m reminded of the foundation on which our
organization was built. Thirty years ago, Miami faced an overwhelming crisis of more than 10,000 unhoused
individuals. Alvah H. Chapman Jr., in partnership with public officials and the business community, took
decisive action to create a sustainable, adaptive, and impactful model in response. That action led to the
formation of the Miami Dade County Homeless Trust and its operating partner, Chapman Partnership.
Thanks to Mr. Chapman’s vision and the dedication of our staff and supporters like you, our nationally
recognized model has significantly reduced the number of people experiencing homelessness in our
community. This past year, we have helped more than 2000 individuals secure housing, find employment,
and take crucial steps toward self-sufficiency. Today, there are less than 1,000 unhoused individuals in
Miami-Dade County, far below the national average of other major cities.
At Chapman Partnership, we know that lasting change never happens in isolation. It happens when we
come together as a team, united by a common goal. It happens when we embrace innovative approaches
to complex challenges, continually improving and adapting to our community’s immediate needs. It
happens when we serve with compassion; recognizing the dignity and humanity of every individual and
family.
Authentic, whole-hearted service is not about rewriting someone’s story. It’s about walking beside people
in empathy, listening to their voices, and supporting their unique journeys.
Our work goes far beyond offering temporary relief from homelessness. We offer hope – the belief that
every person welcomed through the doors of our two campuses can overcome their circumstances. At
Chapman Partnership, serving others means meeting people where they are with the resources they need
to take powerful charge of their own futures.
Thank you for your ongoing support and deep belief in our mission. Together, we will continue to create
opportunities to ensure that all Miami residents are housed and supported, recognizing that when one part
of our community thrives, we are all stronger.
In gratitude,
SCOTT HANSEL
PRESIDENT AND CEO
